Contains newsletters from Judy Levy NOW from 2002-2003.[1]

Overview

This folder contains every newsletter from Judy Levy NOW published bi-monthly November 2000 - February 2003. The documents in this folder directly follow the split from Gainesville NOW in 2000, beginning with Document 2. Throughout this folder, nothing is mentioned about the split except that they "have been members of other chapters for years" and were working on increasing actions in the community.[2]

The newsletters in this folder follow a specific format. Each one has a list of upcoming chapter events, a letter from president Emily Browne, updates about local or state politics, and co-programming events. The newsletters are shorter than those in other folders and have a photo of recent events on each edition.

Most of the issues the chapter addresses are abortion and local election politics. The local political elections and campaigns are often used to bring up other topics like employment discrimination or racism in Gainesville. President Emily Browne's letter was used to explain the position of the organization through these campaigns and personally invite members to become active in events. The photos at the end of the newsletters were also used to be inviting to potential members.
